Section "The History of the Hellenic Geological Survey"

In this thematic section, there is a brief presentation of the history of the Hellenic Geological Survey from the beginnings of the Greek state to its establishment in 1919, which marks the beginning of geological exploration in Greece, up to the present day with the evolution of the service as the Hellenic Survey of Geology and Mineral Exploration (H.S.G.M.E.). 

The exhibition consists of the evolution of the Geological Survey in Greece, geological historical samples of studies, the first solar polarizing microscope (1913) and the first geological map of the Geological Survey (1954).
